Since a very young age David has been involved in the study of East Asian Traditions, from martial arts to medicine and philosophy. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine where he was awarded the annual prize for most outstanding performance in the degree. As part of this 4 year full time program David lived in Anhui, China where he undertook his hospital internship. Following this, David completed his Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Neurophysiology at RMIT University, Melbourne. He is currently in candidature for his doctorate at the University of Technology, Sydney.
Experience:
David has undertaken both professional and traditional internships under some of the world’s most renouned Chinese Medicine practitioners, including having studied 16 years (ongoing) with John Dolic, 7 years (ongoing) with Dr. David Tai, 5 years with Prof. Hoc Ku Huynh, and 2 years with Daniel Deng. In addition, David often presents professional seminars on Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for both practitioners and students.
Teaching and Clinical Practice:
David is a Senior Lecturer in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Western Sydney. Clinically David runs a general practice managing and treating pain, gastric, respiratory, skin, gynaecological and psychological disorders (among many others) with acupuncture and Chinese medicine. In addition, David has undertaken specialised training in acupuncture for Neurological Rehabilitation and is a consultant Acupuncture Physician for the Royal North Shore Hospital and Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney.
David is a fully accredited member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) and a member and director of the International Society for the Study of Classical Acupuncture (ISSCA).
